I've never been the "top of the class." Rather, I was one of those that really struggled for my B+ average, but looking back, it was totally worth all the effort. I'm finding, however, that there are some things in life, which no matter how hard I try and how much I prepare for, my B grade isn't anywhere near my horizon.
For example, I can't figure out how to sew a button on with my sewing machine that sews them on for you to save my life, and no amount of internet tutorials has allowed me to sew one working zipper on a single piece of clothing. That leaves me with using what I've got laying around (since buttons and zippers are already on them) to make things for Em. We seem to always be in a shortage of some specific article or size of clothing. So, a while back, I started riffling through my maternity clothes. I thought, "Well, I will personally NEVER wear any of these again, so why not?" A few hours later, I had some really cute dresses for Em, all ready for the spring

That's when the irony of life suddenly reminded me to "always be prepared." Despite all our efforts, we have apparently received yet another failing grade in the class of family planning. My B+ average, which hovered at a C after Cooper, has dipped somewhere near a D-. Babe #3 is due in April and while I'd love to say I'd be thrilled to hear how you honestly react to the rather shocking news, I don't. I want the sugar-coated nice versions of whatever it is you're thinking. So my request is that you follow what you're mother always told you: If you don't have anything nice to write, please don't write it. The idea of three kids under 3 years-old is still sinking in and while I'm happy to have another baby, I feel rather like I'm about to climb the Himalayas without a guide having never climbed anything higher than 10 feet before in my life! On the bright side though, I know I'll get some EXCELLENT stories out of all this to brighten many of your future days!!!

Oh, my goodness!!! How exciting!!
Oh, Brittany -- you can handle anything ... even three little ones --- or four, if you have twins.
What exciting news....I am so very happy for you and your wonderful family!!!!
Well seeing as how I have yet to see a rubric for said grades, and so far you have two perfect babes I'd have to say A's all around!! When you're good at something...run with it girlfriend! I heart you and all of your spawn!!
Kate
Carol, I love you, so I'm going to let the comment about twins slide... :)
I'm beginning to think you're copying me ... second child born around September (which is Ian's birth month) and third child born around April (which is Andrew's birth month) ... or does this mean I'm due for a third child in May to match Em? Anyways CONGRATS! Hope everything treats you well and we can swap stories once my third one comes "accidentally".
Congratulations Brittany & Todd! You are A+ parents so far so I'm sure the blog will only go stronger! Blessings for the journey ahead...
Congrats!!! And I promise, it won't be as crazy as you think it will be. It will be crazy, but not nearly as hard as you might think. Going from one to two was so much harder, in my opinion anyway.
