I've been sick the last few days. It hasn't been pleasant (unless you ask the kids who have had more than their fair share of Dinosaur Train). The worst part is that Todd has been in meetings all week, including today. Dishes, laundry, and basic tidying have fallen by the wayside, but today was special. Even though the kitchen is a wreck, I made sure that I had at least one counter free to use to bake and decorate a birthday cake for Cooper. I actually paused this morning just before 10am to remember how I felt at that same time, two years ago. Amazed that 2 years have passed already, but so incredibly happy to have my boistrous, babbling two-year-old boy. He brings laughter and mischief to the world, and I'm convinced its a better place because he's around... most days *wink, wink* For the big day, I thought nothing would suit this eternally-messy boy better than a chocolate cake, chocolate frosting and marshmallow fluff in true Rocky Road ice cream fashion.
Then...

And now!
Even though these candles got the better of him together, he later corrected the offense by eating them for not going out at the same time. Not joking, at least not about the eating
them part.
As soon as he realized he could actually EAT this, it was a full-contact sport. The best part was that the marshmallow fluff was sticky, so he was continually trying to get the 'strings' connecting his face to the cupcake.
I love this boy... and this face!
Yeah for birthday cupcakes!!!
